JoyceFest: In Honour of Joyce Bruhn de Garavito

May 31 / June 1 2020 in London (Part of the Canadian Association of Hispanists) https://www.hispanistas.ca/congreso-2020-en-londres-ontario/)

To honour the career of Joyce Bruhn de Garavito and the positive scholarly impact she has had on so many of us, on the occasion of her retirement from the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Western Ontario we invite students, former students and colleagues to present either papers as part of a panel (three 20 minute papers, with discussion, in 90 minutes) or to participate in a Round Table discussion (up to 10 shorter interventions, with comments and discussion, in 90 minutes) on any of the following topics relating to Joyce, her research career and academic interests:

(Spanish) Morphosyntax

Acquisition of morphosyntax

Bilingualism

Language contact/Indigenous languages

Linguistic theory applied to language teaching

Ellipsis

With apologies for the lateness of this request: please contact us by Wednesday, January 29 at noon Pacific Time if you are interested in participating in either a Round Table or a Panel session, and we will let you know what is required in each case (the papers require a 200 word abstract). Joint / co-authored work is also welcome. There will be an opportunity later to add words of greeting / congratulations for Joyce to this event, if you are unable to attend in person (let us know!).

La participación puede ser en inglés o en español. Para más información, escribir a David Heap (djheap@uwo.ca).
