Dear colleagues,

The MNN has received an invitation from Sport Manitoba to participate in their Peak Performance seminar series.  They are looking for a speaker to present on the topic of sleep and athletic performance, and this could extend into areas such as attention, cognition, and circadian rhythms.  Details are provided below and as you can see, an honorarium is also provided.

If you are interested, please contact me and I will pass your information on to Sport Manitoba.

Best wishes, Sari

Hi Dr. Sari,

Sport Manitoba Performance delivers a series of Peak Performance Seminars (P-Series) that take place monthly from October to March.  The talks are targeted to high performance amateur athletes, coaches and/or parents to help with development and preparing athletes for competition.   We’re very interested in incorporating the topic of ‘sleep’ as one of our topics this year.

Is there anyone within the MNN network that would be interested in speaking on the importance of sleep for athletes, sleep strategies for a good night sleep, sleep cycles, naps or other related topics.  When researching speakers, we came across Dr. Marcus Ng, but there may be another speaker within the network that could be good fit.

All presentations take place at Sport Manitoba’s Conference Room (capacity 80), located at 145 Pacific Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba.  The series is also broadcasted via webstream so that athletes in rural regions of the province are able to obtain the information presented.  The talks are 45-50-minutes including a 5-10 minute period for questions.  All presenters are compensated $200 for their time and efforts!

Look forward to hearing your response!  Have a great day!
