Health Sciences Centre & University of Manitoba

Assistant Professor, Department of Human Anatomy &

Cell Science, University of Manitoba

Topic: PET imaging in Parkinson’s disease.

Location: PX236/238, Psychiatry Bldg. Bannatyne Campus

Brief Biosketch: Dr. Ko received his BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Hanyang University (Seoul, South Korea). In his senior year, he became fascinated by how neurobiological systems can be modeled and interpreted mathematically, so decided to study the brain. He completed his graduate training in Cognitive Neuroscience at McGill University (Montreal) under the supervision of Dr. Antonio Strafella and Dr. Alain Ptito. After earning his PhD, he continued his training as a postdoctoral fellow in functional brain imaging at the University of Toronto, once again under Dr. Strafella. Then, he moved to New York to join Dr. David Eidelberg’s group at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, where he trained in multivariate brain imaging analysis. In 2014, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor at The University of Manitoba, where he is currently investigating brain imaging-based biomarkers and therapeutic brain stimulation.
