Hi All.

I am happy enough to meet immediately following the meeting, though that could make for a heavy afternoon. I am also available to meet on the Tuesday but will out of town from Wednesday until the following week.

Best,

Paul

Hi, all!

Apologies for the delay by way of reply re: all recent WGSCC emails. (I'm thoroughly busy with organizing much in connection with the NDP's by-election in St. Boniface, which concludes on July 17.)

I am sad and sorry to learn that we didn't receive the SSHRC grant and, like you, I'm terribly curious as to why! Still, I'm hopeful that we'll win re: second application!

I agree with Jim and would prefer to connect as a committee following our larger WGSCC meeting on the 16th. There's no need to do so without any info. from the granting council, etc.

And no: I have made zero progress nor have resumed any efforts re: securing keynotes, for which I am sorry. Given our present circumstances, however, it's prudent not to secure keynotes until our finances are more secure.

After the elections, I WILL refocus on this work. I will!

In any case, I hope all are well!

See you on the 16th!

Hi folks,

We had planned to have a meeting after we heard back from SSHRC.  We don’t know, of course, what the issue was with our application, but I think it would be prudent to consider the possibility that we might not get a SSHRC grant.  Or at least we have to determine how we would deal with such a scenario.  We can have a Zoom meeting beforehand if anyone thinks it useful but,  in any case, I would like for the fundraising committee to have a face-to-face meeting in  Winnipeg after the broader committee meets so that we can think about our budget, and have a fuller discussion of the issues and options.  In the meantime (and it is only a week), we should hold off making any commitments on issues such as keynote speakers (I don’t know where Krishna is with this).

Let me know your thoughts, and if you agree.  And whether we should meet right after the larger meeting, or take a break and meet, say Tuesday or Wednesday, if folks are around then.

Jim
