Good morning,

The University of Manitoba is proud to continue being a supporter of the Pride Winnipeg Festival and Parade, and I invite and encourage all members of the University community, including our alumni and friends, to participate in the events and walk with us in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 2.

The University of Manitoba is committed to creating an outstanding learning and work environment and building a culture of inclusion on our campuses. Many members of the U of M family count themselves as members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and we are working to ensure that the University of Manitoba is a place where the queer community is welcomed and successful.

To celebrate diversity on our campuses, the Pride flag will be raised and flown throughout Pride Week. Students, faculty and staff are invited to a special ceremony on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m. in the Brodie Centre Atrium at the Bannatyne campus to show their support for the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

To find out more about many activities happening on our campuses and to register to walk with us in the Parade, visit umanitoba.ca/umqueer.

Sincerely,

David
