Dear Students of the University of Manitoba:

Dr. Michael Benarroch’s current five-year term as President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manitoba ends June 30, 2025. President Benarroch has indicated his interest in reappointment, and, pursuant to his agreement with the University, requested that the Board of Governors review his performance as President with a view to reappointment for a further term. 

In accordance with its governance practices, the Board of Governors has established a Presidential Review Committee. This Committee will review President Benarroch’s performance and his vision for a further term, reporting to the Board of Governors with a recommendation on the reappointment of the President by March 19, 2024. 

The Board of Governors has requested that the Presidential Review Committee solicit informed feedback from members of the University Community, including students, with respect to the President’s reappointment. As a student your voice is important to the Review Committee, and you are invited to complete a short confidential survey to provide input. The survey can be accessed by clicking HERE.

If you wish, you are also invited to make a written submission to the Committee. We are specifically seeking input on President Bennaroch’s performance and leadership.
