Dear Students:

The University has received questions regarding the Coronavirus from students, staff and faculty. At the present time, health officials continue to note that the risk of contracting the virus remains low. We are actively monitoring the situation in conjunction with Manitoba Health and the Public Health Agency of Canada and will provide additional information on the University’s homepage when available.

Manitoba Health advises that persons may be at risk if they have travelled to Wuhan, China within 14 days prior to onset of illness, and currently have signs/symptoms suggestive of coronavirus:

o Cough

o Fever

o Sore throat

o Runny nose

o Weakness

o Headache

 

Manitoba Health also advises that persons may be at risk if they have:

• Come into contact with someone who has or is suspected of having infection with coronavirus from Wuhan, China, OR

• Come into contact with someone with flu-like symptoms (cough, sneezing, runny nose, fever) who has been to Wuhan, China within 14 days prior to their illness onset, OR

• Been exposed to laboratory specimens of persons who may have been infected with coronavirus from Wuhan, China
