Dear new and returning students:

We welcome you to another exciting year of learning and growth.

As you may have seen in the media, there is the potential for a Winnipeg transit work stoppage (no deadline has been set), which could impact those who rely on the service to commute to and from campus. Please note that in the event of a strike, classes and other operations of the University will continue.

The University respects the bargaining process between the City of Winnipeg and the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1505. As we await further updates we have begun planning for various contingencies. In the event of a work stoppage, we will be asking students, faculty and staff to find alternative ways to come to campus (such as car pools, Go-Manitoba Ride Share, bikes, etc.).

As this situation unfolds over the coming days, we will contact you with more information, including a link to a dedicated website with FAQs.

Have a great long-weekend - see you next week!
