The City of Winnipeg is currently negotiating a new agreement with the Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1505 (“ATU”), the union representing transit workers.

UM has been informed The Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), the union representing most Transit staff, is in a legal strike position and has advised that their members will not work overtime, which will mean disruption to services.

UM is asking students to plan accordingly and check bus schedules before travelling. The City has provided more information on its website.

Student Affairs – Leaders in cultivating exceptional student experiences

With humility and respect, I acknowledge that the University of Manitoba campuses are located on original lands of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Ojibwe-Cree, Dakota and Dene peoples, and on the National Homeland of the Red River Métis. I respect the Treaties that were made on these territories, I acknowledge the harms and mistakes of the past, and I dedicate myself to move forward in partnership with Indigenous communities in a spirit of Reconciliation and collaboration.
