Hello everyone,

Here are a couple of free webinars that you might be interested in listening in.

I'm away on July 3rd so am unable to host a group viewing for that one.

However I have registered for the July 17th webinar if anyone wishes to join me at the EcoCentre boardroom to take in that one.

cheers,
Beth

Ongoing, sustainable and effective public involvement is one of the cornerstones of creating a great community. This is a two-part webinar series exploring how to create more livable communities through public involvement.

The first webinar, Organizational Models for Public Involvement, will explain why public involvement is necessary, identify the types of public involvement, and review organizational models and opportunities for public involvement. Attendees will learn specific institutional changes they can make to better involve the public in all projects and programs, thereby creating better communities for walking and bicycling.

The second webinar, How to Create and Run Effective Advisory and Advocacy Groups, will explain why and how to create and run effective advisory and advocacy groups. Attendees will learn detailed techniques for recruiting members, maintaining active participation, effecting change, and creating positive working relationships between the public and governmental agencies. Advocates and local governmental officials will find this webinar beneficial.

Both webinars are presented by Peter Lagerwey, Seattle Regional Office Director, Toole Design Group.
