Commuter Challenge

Throw down the gauntlet this year and challenge another company in your sector to outdo each other. If you're the Commuter Challenge coordinator at your workplace, don't miss the orientation (and delicious lunch) on May 18. Sign up for a free session on tools and tips to help your co-workers switch to an active or green commute. Find some inspiration or add your story to the Commuters of Manitoba. Everyone is invited to join us for the launch on June 1.

Is your workplace located in downtown Winnipeg? If so, nominate a co-worker who normally drives to be awarded a 5-day bus pass during the Commuter Challenge! Nomination forms due by May 27.
Portage shares and repairs bikes

Portage la Prairie is a bustling place for bikes these days. From their shared bike program to a new community bike repair shop (thanks to CMHA and modelled after the WRENCH) to Bike Week plans, there's lots happening on two wheels. Keep up to date
Weirdly interesting

Finally, a detailed graphic on how to wear a bicycle helmet! And who'd have thought you'd find the history of cycling on cigarette cards (seriously)? Put that in your pipe, tobacco companies. Have you ever tried to draw a bike from memory? It ain't easy. And even harder to ride.

It's the cycling edition...
Worldwide bike campout

If you like camping, why not try camping by bike! Take part in Swift's worldwide bike campout on June 25 & 26. I will be attempting the bike ride from Winnipeg to Birds Hill, this time with my husband and 2 boys. Find tips on family camping by bike and bike routes to Birds Hill on our blog.

Summer is here. Bike!

Seeing Green Action Centre's beautiful Bike! video from a few year's ago makes me excited for the summer season ahead. Why not enjoy the video one more time and share it with your friends.

DIY projects for your bike

Whether you need to transport your guitar or your dog by bike, or simply want to turn your favourite bag into a pannier, there's a DIY project waiting for you.
