CAN Summer Research Program

The Canadian Arthritis Network (CAN) and The Arthritis Society are pleased to announce the launch of the Summer Research Program for Medical and Allied Health Professional Students. The 2010 program marks its fifth year running and each year we have more and more interested students and satisfied researchers.

The program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in professional programs to be introduced to arthritis health research and experience a variety of arthritis-related projects that could include a basic, applied, clinical, health services or population health research approach. Students will work alongside some of Canada's most prominent scientists and clinical researchers in the rheumatic disease field, some of whom work on cutting-edge research in the hopes of treating arthritis and other autoimmune diseases. Successful applicants will receive a bursary of up to a maximum of $6,000 from CAN for a work term of one to three months over the summer of 2010. Last year, a record 23 students were accepted into the program! The deadline for students to apply is January 29, 2010.

Please note the links to the program descriptions below (in PDF), in French and English, and contact Joanne Wright for details.
