- Geometry and definitions: cumulative selections and geometry parts
- Geometry and mesh: virtual operations
- Materials: Global materials and materials switch
- Physics: the use of cumulative selections in physics

- Physics and solvers: modification of the physics tree in a study step
- Solvers: solver sequences, using initial conditions in sequences of study steps, and using separate studies
- Solvers: segregated and fully coupled solvers; when and why
- Results: annotations, selections, and parameters in results
- Results: the Report generator
- Recording and running methods
- New features in the latest version of COMSOL Multiphysics® software
