The Israel Ambassador program will: WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE FROM ACROSS CANADA

Provide participants with on-hand experience of the many programs that Israel has to offer fellow students. The group will be visiting different program options around Israel, meeting with staff members and current program participants.  The group will also receive tools such as public speaking and marketing, which will help them to recruit students and market Israel programs. Train students who are going back to their campuses to recruit other students to come to Israel on programs and participate in Israel activities on campus. The program requires a commitment afterwards of being involved on your campus, meeting students, and marketing Israel and Israel options.

 

 

When: Wednesday, August 1st – Wednesday, August 8th

 

Price:      

The program is highly subsidized – Land costs are $450 including full room and board. Subsidies for group flights are up to $1000.  For those purchasing their own tickets the subsidy is $500 for the flight and $450 for the land costs.

Criteria for Israel Ambassador Program

  1. At least a second year in College/ University
  2. Past involvement in Jewish/Israel organizations
  3. Israel visit, preferably in an organized framework or Israel Program Center program
  4. Willingness to volunteer at least 4 hours a week and participate in the Fellowship program
  5. Recommendation of the local Israel Programs Office
  6. Recommendation of a community leader, Rabbi, or campus professional

 

A representative of Desk, Israel Programs Office, and Tnuat Aliyah will determine acceptance.

 

Ambassador’s Commitment

  1. The Ambassador will commit themselves to at least 4 hours of volunteering per week
  2. Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1 .Recruit participants for Israel Programs.

2. Promote Israel Programs on local college campus (es) through tabling on campus.

3. Promote on campus through flyering. (Flyers available online).

4. Regularly attend Jewish and/or pro-Israel events on area campuses.

5. Promote by speaking at events (on and off campus).

6.  Publicize programs in university media and email newsletters. As well as all Birthright Alumni groups.

7. Learn about and know all details and descriptions of Israel Programs.

8. Gather information of students interested in programs and keep an up-to-date database of students.

9. Provide detailed information on Israel Programs to interested students.

10. Keep close track of your interested students.

11.  Follow-up regularly with interested students.

12. Work closely with Jewish/pro-Israeli/Zionist organizations on area    

campuses. 

13. Engage local Israel program  alumni in local and campus events, future programs, and recruiting.

14. Collect contact info (name, number, email, etc.) of students who have been to Israel on any program.

15. Find student representatives to help promote programs.

16. Contact university offices and career placement, informing them of our  programs.

17. Work closely with Aliyah Shlichim where applicable.

18.  Organize at least one event per semester on each campus to discuss

Programs, Study, and Aliyah.

19.  Have interested students call office with their questions.

20. Recruiting new Reps on all local campuses to network with and to help with recruitment.


The Ambassador will be responsible to the local Israel Programs coordinator
