Hello Shayna Plaut,

We are writing today to share our call for applications for the 2022 O’Brien Graduate Fellowships in the Faculty of Law, McGill University. We have included the call for applications—in English, French, and Spanish—with this email.  We would be grateful if you could share these widely within your networks.

The O’Brien Graduate Fellowships were established in 2005 through a very generous gift from David O’Brien for outstanding Masters or Doctoral students studying in the area of human rights and legal pluralism in the Faculty of Law, McGill University.

O’Brien Fellows become members of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, a focal point for innovative legal and interdisciplinary research, dialogue, and outreach on human rights and legal pluralism. The Fellowships for LLM students are valued at up to a maximum of $25,000 per annum, tenable for 1 year. For DCL students the Fellowships are valued at $35,000 per annum, renewable twice (if eligibility is maintained).

Successful applicants will have an outstanding academic record and a strong research proposal in the field of human rights and legal pluralism. The deadline for O’Brien Fellowship applications is December 19, 2021.

This Fellowship Program is an entrance scholarship. Applicants for this scholarship must also simultaneously submit an application for admission to one of our graduate programs by the stipulated deadline.

Thank you,

Kayla Rolland
