Michael Bryant
was Attorney General of Ontario when that province passed its emergency management legislation that initially applied during the COVID19 pandemic. Since 2018 he has led the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, a premier watchdog of domestic laws and regulations, and a frequent litigator before the Supreme Court of Canada. Obiora C. Okafor is the Inaugural York Research Chair in International and Transnational Legal Studies at Osgoode Hall Law School. About the speaker
Dr. Andrey Shcherbovich graduated from the National Research University Higher School of Economics, Faculty of Law (Department of International Law), Moscow, Russia, in 2008. In 2019 he was a CyberBRICS research fellow and visiting professor at FGV, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dr. Shcherbovich’s professional interests are related to Russian public law (constitutional and human rights law) with special regard to international principles of Internet Governance.

Radhika Coomaraswamy is a lawyer, diplomat, and human rights advocate. She is a graduate of the United Nations International School in New York. Radhika served as the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission (2003-2006). She was the first Special Rapporteur on violence against women (1994-2003).

The call for applications for the 2022 O’Brien Graduate Fellowships in the Faculty of Law, McGill University, remains open.  O’Brien Fellows become members of the Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism, a focal point for innovative legal and interdisciplinary research, dialogue, and outreach on human rights and legal pluralism.
 
This Fellowship Program is an entrance scholarship. Applicants for this scholarship must also simultaneously submit an application for admission, by the stipulated deadline, to one of McGill Law's graduate programs.
