Dear Neuroscience community,

The 6th Manitoba Neuroscience Network Scientific Meeting on June 14-15th  is fast approaching.   Please register for and attend the Manitoba Neuroscience Network meeting – Focus on Dementia,  to maximize your awareness of the research quality and opportunities in your community in an atmosphere designed to encourage social interaction.    Registration is open until May 31, 2016.  Registrations received after this date will not be listed in the program.   Please visit the MNN2016 Website to view this year’s program and click on registration button to register for the event. Limited number of on-site registrations can be done on June 15.


Abstract Deadline  
is  Friday May 13, 2016  5:00 pm.   More instructions on how to be submit an abstract can be found on the  MNN2016 Conference website

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ABSTRACT: 

Complete the MNN2016 ABSTRACT following the abstract style and content guidelines below and email to: MNN2016@manitobaneuroscience.ca


STYLE & CONTENT:

Abstract style: For a uniform style in the program, authors are requested to use the following: 

Font size:
 10 point 
Font Style: Times New Roman   
Authors: List author given names and surnames. Place an asterisk (*) after the presenting author.   
Institution: The name of the institution(s) and department should follow the last author’s name.  
Contact Address: Please include the e-mail address of the corresponding author at the end of title.


Abstract content: All text of the abstract should fit within the box provided on the abstract form. The content of the abstract should contain the following subsections:


Objective of investigation.
 There should be a brief statement of the study objectives. 
Methods. A brief description of the experimental methods used.  
Results. Essential results including core data should be clearly stated in the abstract content.   
Conclusion. Include a concluding statement that explicitly states the findings and implications.  
Supporting agency or grants.  Where supporting grants have been received, the agency should be acknowledged. 

SAMPLE ABSTRACT

 

·       Poster board size:  72"W x 48"H

·       Material for hanging posters will be provided onsite. 

·       Posters should be mounted between 8:00 and 8:30am and taken down by 7:30pm, June 15th.  

·       Posters remaining after 7:30pm will be discarded.

·       Presenters will be notified of poster locations by email approximately 1 week before the meeting

oster Awards

All abstracts submitted by students, postdocs and residents will be assessed by a scientific review team. Top-rated abstracts will be selected for judging at the MNN poster session. Poster award winners will be chosen by judging teams and notified after the meeting. Presenters will be notified one week prior to the MNN meeting if selected for judging. A specific judging time will be given at that time.
