Hello folks,
Here is a message from your friendly neighbourhood Graduate Students
Association Councilman (Simon). The GSA Welcome Week is going to be a
great time for all involved, including all sorts of sports, activities,
and entertainment. All graduate students should participate and get to
know some peers in other departments. ALSO, there are opportunities to
get involved in the week by helping with some of the events and
activities. I am pasting an email I received from the Vice President
(Academic) - our faculty's very own Caroline Rosa - about how to get
involved. If you are interested, contact Caroline for more information
(vpa(a)umgsa.ca).
Thanks, Simon.

The Graduate Students' Welcome Back week is fast approaching!!
GSA is hosting a week long celebration (September 7th to 14th), which will
include campus tours, presentations about life in Manitoba, kiosks,
distribution of handbooks, ultimate Frisbee and soccer games (and more fun
stuff!!) and a social on Friday the 14th (5-10pm) with live music and BBQ (3
bands confirmed: Andrew Neville and the Poor Choices, The Western State and
Romi Mayes)
We are seeking for volunteers to be part of this event. We would like you (or
whoever you think might be interested) to volunteer in the social, to help
out with the tours or in the BBQ's. We are also going to have a soccer game and
a ultimate frisbe, so if yu know of someone that would like to play or organize
teams, please let me know!
Please let me know if you have interest in participating. It will be an awesome
time!!
Cheers!
Carol
