Subject: CSA Newsletter: Promote yourself!
Date: Fri, 10 Sep 2010 15:02:03 -0500
From: umhalde(a)cc.umanitoba.ca
To: Bev Godard <godardbd(a)ms.umanitoba.ca>
Hi Bev, could you please pass this reminder to grad students in our
department. This could be a great opportunity for students to find a
job or a Ph.D. supervisor.
Thanks, Caroline
______________________________________________________
DEADLINE: next Wednesday, September 15th!!!!!
Hi all!
In its newsletter, the Canadian Society of Agronomy (CSA) highlights
graduate students from different universities, and it is now our turn
to be featured in the next issue! Go U of Manitoba!
Ideally any and all grad students doing anything that falls in the
broad definition of agronomy (soil-crop production-plant
breeding-water-air-agriculture-environment) at the U of Manitoba can
send their profile. You can find online the latest CSA Newsletter for
examples at http://www.agronomycanada.com/may10nws.pdf . The past 2
issues of the CSA Newsletter featured grad students from Nova Scotia
Agricultural College and the University of Saskatchewan.
It takes only a few minutes to write a short text about yourself.
Consider this as an opportunity to promote yourself and maybe find a
job! All CSA members receive the online and paper versions of this
newsletter, and CSA members include faculty members, post-doc fellows,
graduate students, agrologists, and scientists that work for research
institutes and the industry, across the country.
Your short text should include:
- Name
- Graduate Program (M.Sc. or Ph.D., Plant Sci or Soil Sci or other)
- Affiliation (University)
- Email address
- Education (where and which program)
- Current Research (a few lines about your research project)
- Future plans (mention if you?re looking for a job, a Ph.D. project or a post-doc project!)
- A picture of yourself
Please send your short text and picture to Steve Sheppard (CSA Executive Director, sheppards(a)ecomatters.com) by next Wednesday September 15th if you don?t want to miss your chance!
Cheers,
Caroline
