Did you know that in many cases, incorporating copyrighted content into a thesis requires permission from the copyright holder? For example, including a complete copyrighted work such as a photograph, map, diagram or figure, or a substantial amount of text, requires permission to do so. Adapting a work requires permission as well. Permission is needed whether the copyrighted material came from the web, a book, a journal or a government source. Attend an information session to find out what you need to know about copyright while preparing your thesis - when permission is needed, how to get permission, how to find free resources, the pertinent details of the Copyright Act, and more. Registration is not required. Who would benefit from attending a session? * Graduate students writing or preparing to write their theses * Faculty and graduate chairs advising or supervising graduate students * Staff assisting graduate students with their theses.
