The Vanier is a prestigious award that is available to both Canadian and International PhD students studying in any area and provides up to $50,000 of funding for each of three years.
Information about the award and the application process may be found on the FGS Awards database (http://webapps.cc.umanitoba.ca/gradawards/).
The application deadline has been extended to Monday October 13, 2014.

On Friday October 17th we will be having a potluck and the annual PSGSA elections. The potluck will start at 11:30 in room 218 with elections starting at 12:00. If you can't make the elections but would like to run for a position you can send us a self nomination and you will be considered for that position during the elections. To vote however you must be present at the elections.
Included is a list of the 9 positions and a brief description of each, if you have questions on the election or on the positions email me.
