Good afternoon fellow grad students,
The first issue of the Plant Science Newsletter will be released at the end of the month. As discussed by the Dept Council, this will be our department’s primary way of exchanging information. This could include the following:
* Scholarships awarded to students
* Dates/Advertisements of Upcoming events from PSGSA
* Announcements of Mat. leave/New baby’s name!
* Welcoming of new graduate students
* Congratulations to students who have recently defended
* Any other pieces of news that will be relevant to fellow students/department members
* If there’s room, perhaps even a comic strip
If you have any of these listed that you wish to share, please direct them to me at decastr4(a)myumanitoba.ca<mailto:decastr4@myumanitoba.ca> on Feb 18 the latest (Thursday next week) – as coordinator for the Students’ section, I do still need to edit/approve them before forwarding everything to Martha on the 19th.
Thank you so much. Stay warm!
James

Hello Plant Science Students,
Attached is the current grad student office schedule. As shared in fall, the schedule is made and approved so we can follow the Plant Science building occupancy limits.
To make changes to the schedule and/or request an office, please read below:
1. If you already have access to the PS building for the times you would like to use your office:
* If you would like to make changes to your timeslot or shift slots with someone, please contact them, come to an agreement, and then email me (cc the other person to confirm they are aware)
* If you would like to request evening/weekend slots, please email me
* (new students) If you would like to request an office, please email me
1. If you do not currently have access to the PS building at all (or for the times you would like to use your office) and would like to request time slots and/or an office, please contact your supervisor first for times that you can access the building, and then email me so that we can arrange with the schedule.
My email is wilson44(a)myumanitoba.ca.
Once everyone has emailed their changes and requests, I will send the schedule/requests for approval and share the approved updates.
Have a great Tuesday,
Sonia
