Subject: Service Disruption - Plant Science - Access Shutdown -South Stairwell - August 30th to Sept 10th, 2021
Good Morning,
Please see below notice on behalf of Andrew Sinclair.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Building(s): Plant Science
Location(s): South Stairwell
Timeframe (est): August 30th to Sept 10th, 2021
Category: Access Shutdown
Overview: Contractors will be working on the Plant Science Building windows in the South Stairwell the weeks of August 30th and September 6th, 2021.
During this time they will close the stairwell to general use but will maintain it so that it can be used in the case of an emergency, for example, a fire alarm.
The work within the stairwell will involve the use of a bakers scaffold which will be set up and taken down each day when work is occurring. Access to the North Stairwell will be maintained at all times. Contractor will put signs on the doors to the South Stairwell to inform people of the closure and to only use in the case of an emergency. The sign will also direct people to use the North Stairwell.”

Starting Aug 23rd and running until Sept 3rd the contractors will be doing the work in room 210. The first week will be all the work related with the install of the new exhaust hood for the autoclave, the second week will be the window replacement.
Also starting August 23rd they will be grinding the concrete on the exterior of the building to prep it to receive the new horizontal siding. This work may produce a bit of noise inside the building but I have been told it will not be loud.
