Thank you to all the students who vote in our online referendum on whether to tie UMGSA fees to the rate of inflation. Over
20% of the graduate student population participated, and the "Yes" side won with 57% of the vote.
This increase in funds will allow us to maintain a high level of support for graduate students at the University.

The 3MT Thesis Competition is now open for registration for 2019! 3MT is an opportunity for graduate students to significantly develop their communication skills and connection to the wider community by explaining the nature, goals, and significance of their
research in just three minutes.
Prizes up to $2500 are available. This competition is open to all Master's and Doctoral students in thesis-based programs.

Research Study on Copyright in Publication
The Copyright & Licensing Librarian at the University of Waterloo is looking for research study participants.This study will consist of a survey assessing
researcher knowledge of copyright and author addenda in the publication process. This is important as researchers are increasingly being asked to make their research openly available which requires them to retain some rights in their publications.
Participants will be entered to win 1 of 25 prizes, including a tablet and Tim Horton's gift cards.
