notice for Graduate Students, Sessional
Instructors, & Post Doctoral Fellows - This is to
notify you that because of the increasing number of graduate students
registering for the CHET (Certification in Higher Education Teaching)
program,
the University Teaching Services has decided to offer the course,
129.745,
titled “Teaching and Learning in Post-Secondary Instruction” for
the first time in spring session. This course is one of the
requirements for
obtaining the CHET certificate. Details about the days of the week and
the time
this course will be offered during the spring term have been made
available
online. Registration for this course and other UTS spring workshops on
first
come, first serve basis is also available online (http://www.umanitoba.ca/academic_support/uts/workshops/pdw.php
). To be placed on a waiting list for the 129.745 course or any UTS
workshop
that is already full, please contact the CHET Coordinator, Daniel
Bowers
(dbowers@ms.umanitoba.ca; 474 7042). Secondly, registration for the
CHET
program at no cost is now available online. This implies that you don’t
really have to book appointment any longer to register for the CHET
program. To
register for the CHET program online, please visit http://www.umanitoba.ca/uts and
click on
“CHET Participant Application Form” on the right hand side. If you
