Hi all,
There are 2 phd positions available in grassland soil research at Cranfield University, UK.
Following are the details of the position as given in their webpage:
Two PhD studentships are available, focusing on developing a mechanistic understanding of optimal ways to manage organic matter in pastures in order to optimise nutrient cycling and minimise environmental impacts. The individual projects are:
The cluster is based within an alliance between Teagasc, the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority, Johnstown Castle and the National Soil Resources Institute, Cranfield University, UK.
Students will be academically registered at Cranfield. The programmes of work will be carried out at the two institutions, according to need, with supervisory teams based at both.
The studentships, whilst independent, form a coherent programme that complement the wider portfolios of research at both Teagasc and Cranfield. To informally discuss the projects, contact Professor Karl Ritz, k.ritz@cranfield.ac.uk or Dr Rogier Schulte, rogier.schulte@teagasc.ie
Applicants should have a first or upper second class UK honours degree, or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as biology, microbiology, environmental chemistry or soil science.
Interested graduate/postgraduate students with relevant background are invited to submit their detailed CV and application form.
*Supported by a TEAGASC Walsh Fellowship, this studentship provides a bursary of £14,200 p.a. (EUR21k) dependent upon qualifications, experience and project, to cover university fees and subsistence. Details on student fees are available on our website.
Applicants are welcome to apply to be considered for more than one of the projects, and in this case should submit a separate application for each project.
If you are eligible to apply for this research studentship, please complete the Application Form, or you can request that we post one to you. Alternatively you may wish to apply online. For further information contact us today:
