Hi Bev,

Please forward this to all graduate students in plant science.

Thanks

Muthu

-----------

18 months postdoc position at The Biometry and Artificial Intelligence Unit of INRA (French National Institute for Agricultural Research) in Toulouse, France.

The project, funded by the French Research Agency, aims at incorporating linkage disequilibrium into linkage mapping analysis, in order to fine map QTL. It consists in developing statistical methods using linkage disequilibrium for predicting similarity of genitor alleles in a multiple families design, and developing the necessary software tools.

The aim is to attribute, at every locus of the genome, for the alleles of the genitors in the design, (i) a measurement that accurately reflects the identity by descent probability with the ancestral alleles, or (ii) a probable coalescence tree to enable ancestral alleles to be tracked.

The candidates should have a strong background in statistics and/or genetics. The project will also require a programming skill.

Application

Send Curriculum vitae at: brigitte.mangintoulouse.inra.fr

Best regards,

Muthu
