The Agronomy and Farming Systems Program lead by Dr. Yvonne Lawley in the Department of Plant Science at the University of Manitoba requires a field technician to work as part of a research team to lead on-farm research trials across Manitoba on corn and soybean residue management. The position will be based out of Winnipeg, MB. This position is grant funded and will end with the conclusion of the grant in March of 2017. The ideal candidate would have a BSc or MSc in an agriculture related discipline, experience with agronomic research and experimental design, experience with farm scale agricultural equipment, and a keen interest to work with farmers.

You will be responsible for the management and sales of sound unbiased agronomic advice servicing a diverse crop portfolio. Job Requirements:

 Maintain Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) and P.Ag accreditation

 Ability to identify opportunities and prospects including targeting and analyzing customer needs

 Strong planning and organizational skills including the ability to manage time and set priorities
