Hello all,

We're putting together a Plant Science Grad Students team to play in the Aggie Row Curling League and we want you on our team!! The league runs out of the Pembina Curling Club at 4:30 pm every Friday. If you have never curled before, or don't even know what it's all about, this league is the perfect opportunity to learn about one of Canada's favourite passtimes. The league hascurlers with a wide range of experience, so don't worry about being the only inexperienced curler out there. We're hoping to get enough people interested so that you won't have to commit to coming every Friday - unless you want.

Please email myself (Holly), umtayl56@cc.umanitoba.ca, or come talk to me if you're interested.

Hope to hear from you!

-Holly

The Aggie Row Curling League has existed for many years, bringing together people from the university Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences and the Agriculture Canada Cereal Research Station for a time of social comraderie and fun. In recent years the faculty teams have been organized without regard to department affiliation so meeting new people is assured. Teams are made up as evenly as possible, trying to distribute the experienced players in the positions of third and skip so that the people who are new to curling can have fun and learn as they go play. Your skill level is unimportant as nobody is ever as bad as they think they are, or as good! We play out of the Pembina Curling Club which is located close by at 1341 Pembina Hwy across from the Holiday Inn. Games are on Fridays after work at 4:30, and the latest teams are off the ice is 7pm so there still plenty of time to do something else after. The league is really just for fun (and bragging rights on Monday mornings). The league finishes with a final banquet or dinner following the last evening of curling. As far as equipment needed to play, all you really need is a curling broom and a clean pair of shoes. Friends and family are welcome to curl, with preference being given to employees who are signed up in time. For those who cannot commit to playing every Friday, youre welcome to find someone to share a spot with. We are now organizing for the season.
