We’re hoping to find a person who can start on April 1, 2023, but the date can be negotiable for the right candidate. I’m glad to talk with potential applicants about both the position and life in Vancouver; please encourage them to reach out to me at solveig.hanson@ubc.ca

This is a truly unique position in that it integrates hands-on breeding and variety trial management, participatory farmer network coordination, interpretation of scientific results for both scholarly and farmer audiences, and collaboration with genomic, functional ecology, and social science research groups. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build skills in participatory plant breeding, community science, science communication, and project management. Focus crops will be carrot and two salad greens crops to be selected by participants.
