Caution! This message was sent from outside the University of Manitoba.

Good morning U of M friends.  It was suggested that I send this to the U of M Advisor Exchange in the event that there are some of you who don’t know about M.A.P. or did not receive my previous emails.  If you do, and you did, please accept my apology for yet another email to hit your inbox.

I am writing to let you know that the 2024 M.A.P. Conference is just one week away and yes, there are still tickets left.   With topics such as Generative AI, Truth and Reconciliation,  Career Advising, 2SLGBTQ+ Inclusion, and Volunteerism, plus a full 90 minute lunch for catching up with old colleagues and networking, it is sure to be a rewarding day.  Full conference details and registration can be found here  We are looking forward to seeing you next week.

You can learn more about MAP here

I am also writing to remind you that the current Board of Directors 2-year term is coming to an end and I am appealing to the membership to consider volunteering for MAP’s Board of Directors.  MAP believes that providing professional development and networking opportunities for personnel of Manitoba’s post-secondary institutions is as important today as MAP’s founders did in 1997.  Serving on MAP’s Board of Directors allows you to have a say in what those opportunities are.  Registering for the 2024 conference as a new or non-current member includes a 2024 membership so you are able to join the Board of Directors for 2025 and/or vote for any members who are seeking a spot of the Board.

Typically, the MAP board meets for two hours once a month with bi-weekly meetings during the later conference-planning time in September and October.  Typical tasks outside of the meetings are contacting potential presenters, arranging for conference or workshop locations and catering, updating membership lists, sending emails.  The same type of tasks that most of us do every day.  So, please consider volunteering for a spot on the Board of Directors and help keep the Manitoba Advising Professionals going strong by filling out and submitting a nomination form by clicking this link

If you have any questions about what it is like to work with a great group of people doing great things, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
