Hello to the UM Advising Community!

It’s been some time since we’ve had the chance to come together to share, learn, and grow our advising toolkits.  The UMAE is an excellent resource and networking opportunity for Academic Advisors and those who offer direct support to students through their time at UM.  In past, Brigitte Wiebe provided facilitation support for UMAE and other advising initiatives.  As University Advising Services now falls within Student Transitions and Success Centre, we have explored and developed a new model for the Advising Community to come together around advising initiatives, systems and tools, sharing best practices, professional development, etc.

In the coming weeks, you’ll be invited to a MS Team where we’ll be able to store resources, share information and more effectively communicate with each other.  If there is information that folks feel is benefit to the UM Advising Community, please feel free to email your announcement to advisor-exchange@lists.umanitoba.ca as well.

I’ve tentatively booked May 6 at 1:00 pm for our next UMAE meeting.  Once we have the MS Team up and running, we’ll send the invitations and an agenda.

See you then!

Ali
