Hello Advisors,
As you gear up to connect with incoming first-year students over the coming weeks, we encourage you to share information about
Summer University Advantage (SUA) with students who are looking for productive ways to spend their summer and prepare for a successful transition to university.
Summer University Advantage is designed to help newly admitted students build confidence, develop academic skills, and establish connections before beginning their studies in
the Fall. Through a variety of programming and activities, students can familiarize themselves with university expectations while connecting with peers, staff and campus supports.
Students can participate in:
While ARTS 1110 carries regular tuition fees as a credit-bearing course, all supplementary SUA programming is offered at no additional charge to students.
If you encounter students who are wondering how they can make the most of their summer prior to starting university, SUA is an excellent way to get a head start on the transition
to university. Bonus: students can earn experiential learning recognition for their participation.
If you have questions about Summer University Advantage, they can be directed to me at
Usman.Rana@umanitoba.ca. Students can also reach out directly to
Summer.Advantage@umanitoba.ca for support and information about registration.
Thanks for your help! Have a wonderful summer!
