Hello,

Please find an external award opportunity for all students through the Winna company to share with advisors, with students, if they wish:

Winna Tech Leaders of Tomorrow Annual Scholarship

The Winna Tech Leaders of Tomorrow Annual Scholarship is a $1,500 scholarship for students in science, technology, engineering, math, business, finance, and related fields.

This scholarship is designed for students who can identify a real problem in academia and think through a practical solution. The goal is to support students who think like builders, analysts, operators, and future leaders. A strong submission should show clear reasoning, real-world awareness, and practicality.

No purchase or use of Winna is required to apply.

About the Scholarship

Applicants should choose one specific problem that they’ve noticed in their academic experience, explain the issue, propose a technical solution, show how that solution could be implemented, and include the unit economics that would determine whether the idea could work in practice. We are looking for change that works. Maximum 2,000 words.

An example is below:

· I noticed that the digital whiteboards are hard to use and often fail. They also produce e-waste once obsolete and cost a lot of money. Most teachers struggle with it and it requires 1 tech person to be on-call to help support teachers.

· One technical solution we can implement is chalkboards. Chalk is cheap and so are the boards. They have high reliability and would not go obsolete due to new technology.

· The cost for a chalk board is $100 and chalk is $1, the school can save $100,000 a year since there are X chalkboards in the school which are used Y hours a day at the rate of 1 chalk per day.

· The rollout plan can work by replacing the digital whiteboards with chalkboards and placing a package of chalk next to the boards with an eraser. The change can go room by room for one week during the summer, when school is out. The whiteboard support person would be freed to do other IT tasks.

There is no GPA requirements but you must submit an unofficial transcript or proof-of-enrollment to prove that you are enrolled in classes.

One selected recipient will receive a $1,500 USD scholarship award.

The award may be used for any education-related expenses.
