Dear UM Community,

Early this morning, an incident occurred in the Arthur V. Mauro Residence in which an unauthorized individual entered the building and assaulted a resident. Security Services are assisting Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) and supports are being provided to the affected residents. Effective today, UM is increasing the security presence on campus for the immediate future.

WPS has released an image of the individual believed to be responsible. As part of their ongoing investigation, we are sharing this with our university community to support efforts to identify and locate the suspect. You can find more details in the WPS news release.

If you have any information that could assist in the investigation, please contact WPS immediately.

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff are of the utmost importance. Our Security Services team remains on-site and engaged with WPS to support their investigation. Please continue to take steps to ensure your personal safety, including locking doors and being mindful of access points.
