Dear Members of the University Community,

The Winnipeg Police Service has issued a Dangerous Person Alert. There has been a report of a person at large on the University of Manitoba campus armed with a knife. The suspect was seen in the area of the Allen Building. He is described as a black male wearing black clothing. If you see this individual, do not approach and call 9 1 1. Leave the area immediately if safe to do so and stay out of the area. Check media and social media for updates. Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) is on campus conducting a search, but no arrest has been made at this time.

For your safety:

• If you are on campus, remain where you are, stay in place, and lock all doors.
• If you are not on campus, please do not come to campus.

All classes, exams and events have been cancelled for the remainder of the day.
