Dear Student,

I am inviting you to participate in an anonymous online ‘Sexual Violence Needs Assessment Survey’ being administered to all University of Manitoba students.  As you are aware, the University is committed to the safety and well-being of all members of our Community, and as part of this process our Sexual Assault and Violence Steering Committee is examining how well our sexual violence procedures, protocols, and supports are serving our students.  In addition to learning about your experiences with sexual violence, we are also interested in understanding what you know about the supports and resources available on campus and your general perceptions of how the University responds to incidents of sexual violence. This information will be helpful to us in determining priorities for additional supports and resources in future.

The survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete. All responses are voluntary and you can exit the survey at any point without consequence. All responses will be recorded anonymously, and your responses cannot be matched with your identity.  All survey responses will be aggregated and shared only in group format, so no individual responses will be reported. You can save your progress at any time by clicking on the “Save and continue later” button located at the bottom of each survey page. This will allow you to save your progress and return to finish the survey later. You can also choose to discard your responses, so that no information will be recorded from your responses to the survey, by simply exiting the survey without saving.

If you agree to participate, you will have the opportunity to submit your e-mail address for a chance to win one of five $100 University of Manitoba Bookstore gift cards. You can also request that you receive a summary of the overall results when they are available later this year.
