Good afternoon,
The University of Manitoba is once again participating in the Pride Winnipeg Festival and Parade. I invite and encourage all members of the university community, including our alumni and friends, to participate in the events and walk in
the Pride Parade on June 3.
The University of Manitoba is committed to creating an outstanding learning and work environment, and building a culture of inclusion on our campuses. Many members of the U of M family count themselves as members of the LGBT2SQ+ community
and we are working to ensure that the University of Manitoba is a place where the queer community is welcomed and successful.
To celebrate diversity on our campuses, the Pride flag will be raised and flown throughout Pride Week. Students, faculty, staff are invited to a special ceremony on May 28 at 9 a.m. on the steps outside UMSU University Centre at the Fort
Garry Campus to show their support for the LGBT2SQ+ community. To find out more about the activities happening on our campuses and register to walk in the Parade, visit

Sincerely,
David
