To all U of M students:

This message includes important information for students writing exams during the April 2014 Exam Period.

When is my exam?

The Schedule of Final Exams for the April 2014 Exam series, including room and seat assignments, is now available online*. To find out when and where your exams have been scheduled, visit: Final Examinations. Students may also use the new My Exams link in Aurora** to view their personal schedule of Fort Garry Campus exams.

*Bannatyne campus students may visit their College office for exam schedules.

**Aurora will be unavailable from 4:30pm Friday April 11^th until Saturday April 12^th.

Please note:

Students are encouraged to review the exam schedule for:

Conflicts: If a conflict exists within the Schedule of Final Exams, you must notify the Registrar’s Office immediately – this includes exams scheduled three-in-a-row (i.e. Monday evening, Tuesday morning and afternoon).
Changes: Check the schedule again before your exam dates for any changes.

Remember that students must remain available until all exam and test obligations are complete. Travel plans are not an acceptable reason for missing an exam.
Photo identification must be brought to the exam. Bring your Student Photo ID Card (preferred) or another piece of photo identification.
Exams and accompanying papers must be submitted prior to leaving the exam room.
Students who fall ill or otherwise become unable to complete their exam must report to the invigilator before leaving the exam room.
Changes were made to U of M Examination Regulations in Fall 2013. Some of these changes include:

Deferred Exams:

New 48-hour limit for deferred exam requests – requests must be received by the faculty/school office within 48-hours from the scheduled exam date.
Requests for a deferral after having attended an exam are granted only for specific situations in which a student is unexpectedly unable to complete their exam; students must speak to the exam invigilator prior to leaving the exam.

Exam conflict arrangements:

Arrangements made for exam conflicts due to specific athletic, academic or religious obligations are made in the students’ faculty/school office, as per the Deferred Exam Procedure. These should be requested as soon as the conflict becomes known.

Personal belongings:

Unauthorized materials are not permitted in the exam room; students should bring with them only those items required for the exam that they are writing, and materials or devices permitted by their instructor.
All items brought with a student which are not required for the exam must be kept under their exam table – this includes coats and jackets, which are not to be placed on the back of chairs.
Students may not access the space beneath the exam table where their belongings are stored at any time during the exam.
