Hello Bisons,
Save the date! In 2027, UM turns 150 and I'm excited to give you an exclusive look at the plans we are making. This is your invitation to be part of the celebration.
Visit the new UM150 website to see the early slate of special events and programming, and a timeline highlighting some key moments in UM’s history. I also encourage you to take a few minutes to share and submit Your UM Moment when you visit the page!
UM150 will offer a year of opportunities to commemorate our history and celebrate where we are headed. We have so many ways Bisons can join in:
- a kickoff event just for students, faculty, and staff on February 26, 2027;
- a landmark exhibit at the Manitoba Museum;
- a supersized Homecoming in September;
- an interactive community photo mosaic project;
- and a Bisons Give Back program to encourage 150 acts of service.
For a century and a half, we have trained the leaders and big thinkers Manitoba needs. Our history of learning, research, and engagement is something to honour, to learn from, and to carry into whatever comes next.
There’s much more to come. Visit the website regularly to watch the lineup of events evolve and grow as we get closer to the launch. This once-in-a-generation event will provide a lot of reflection, fun, and camaraderie because UM150 belongs to all of us!
