A woman is in unstable condition after she was struck by a vehicle near St. John's Park in Winnipeg late Thursday afternoon.
Officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Main Street and Mountain Avenue just before 5 p.m. on Thursday, Winnipeg police said in a news release on Saturday morning.
The pedestrian — a woman in her 50s — was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in unstable condition, police said. Police told CBC News that officials haven't received an update on the woman's condition as of Saturday morning.
The driver, who was operating a 2024 Mazda CX-50 sports utility vehicle, wasn't hurt. Police say she remained on scene and spoke with officers.
Northbound Main Street was closed to traffic for a period of time while police investigated the collision.
