If you watch the video, you’ll note that the bicycle lane is at street level grade (rather than elevated through the island) and is not the same colour as the
sidewalk.

When you have a couple of minutes to watch a video, here's an excellent example of a protected bike lane (cycle track) with "floating bus stops" in San Francisco. Peds
and cyclists seem to be able to negotiate the crossover space nicely. It's similar in concept to our cycle track on Pembina with bus stop crossovers but a step up in design.
