Using Photo-Enforcement to Improve Pedestrian Safety

Wednesday, Oct. 23rd | 2:00-3:00 p.m.

This webinar provides information on how cameras can help improve pedestrian safety by looking at interactions between cars and pedestrians. Photo enforcement of red lights and speed limits is common (and sometimes, controversial). Learn what some communities are doing to monitor compliance at crosswalks and stop signs to improve safety. The session includes an overview of the technology; a summary of the research that makes the case for using cameras; and information about the District of Columbia's plans to expand its current photo enforcement program.
