Good to see many of you today. Here are some reflections from our discussion. Please add as you see fit.

Thank you for your ongoing efforts to host CCLR in Nanaimo. We appreciate that it takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to put on this event.

Expressed concerns about process thus far:

membership fees inclusion,
inconsistent communications,
lack of transparency around process for recruiting reviewers and the review process more broadly,
Delays with abstract acceptances, staggered release of results, delays with release of program,
Push for hotel partners is antithetical to the spirit of keeping CCLR affordable and accessible, and
Concerns about not having a keynote talk on Canadian efforts towards EDI.

Considerations moving forward:

All authors should be included on the detailed program (for funding, APR, and promotions reviews).
Authors and presenters are not synonymous and authorship should be prioritized on conference publications.
The two abstract limit, does this apply to first authorship only? Difficult when many graduate students or collaborations
