Hello MPT students
From February 12th to 13th, you’re invited to take part in a pivotal decision that will directly impact the future of students in the Masters of Physical Therapy Program. The 2026 Council Referendum is your opportunity
to vote on the future of the Student Initiative Funds (SIF)—funds that help enrich the academic experiences of students within the Masters of Physical Therapy Program.
What is the SIF?
These funds are designed to empower students through initiatives that support academic excellence and student-driven
projects. They’re supported by student contributions on a per-credit hour/term basis, and your vote will determine how these funds are allocated.
Past Terms (2023)
Proposed Terms (2026)
The SIF in particular has appeared to have been underutilized over the course of several year and has thus accumulated. It is the general consensus of the council to pause paying into the SIF while we aim to
use what exists in the fund in a meaningful way. The council proposes a continued contribution to the Endowment fund at a decrease cost to students.
Why does your vote matter?
This referendum isn’t just about numbers—it’s about creating a lasting impact on the students and programs that will shape our future. With your vote, you help fund transformative opportunities for your fellow
students and pave the way for future leaders in the MPT field.
Voting opens on Feb 12th at 12:01 am CST and will close on Feb 13th at 11:59 pm CST. Cast your vote via Simply Voting to make sure your voice is heard.
