HELLO Dentistry Returning Students (Classes of 26, 27 & 28)!
I hope you are enjoying summer and keeping cool!
Please read all of the following:
Please find attached a weekly schedule for Fall 2025. While the schedules are fairly set, there are still a couple of pending items that may adjust the schedules. If the top date is highlighted in green there are still some potential
changes.
As of now, unless there is a major change to the schedule, I will not be updating these documents but making changes in UM Learn. Please ensure that once courses are open, you are checking the UM Learn schedule for changes.
All activities are in-person, however there are a couple of exceptions due to instructor/room availability who are doing some on-line synchronous teaching. If you wish to be in the building during these on-line sessions a classroom has
been provided for you to view your laptop. You may all want to ensure you have ear plugs if necessary.
Schedule information has been entered into UM Learn and most synchronous lectures will be delivered via Zoom or WebEx in UMLearn. More information on WebEx can be found at:

Registration has been completed, and fees will be generated soon. The U of M has set October 1, 2025, as the deadline for Fall fee payment.
A reminder also to complete your yearly CPR requirement (proof of completion due by Sept 15).

Orientation information/attachments will be available on UM Learn through your general schedule course unless specifically tied to a course and uploaded by your instructors.
As you are aware, it is required that you attend all Orientation events as scheduled during the first weeks of your program. Please be reminded that the College has an Attendance Policy and that the failure to meet the policy may have academic
implications to you.
Please also be reminded that students are expected to be available
until the end of the last day of the posted examination period as well as for the end of all clinical requirements (clearances, etc.) for your year and should remember this when making travel arrangements around these schedules.
Winter term schedule information will be circulated later in the term. For a complete list of start and end dates/holidays/exam weeks/etc. of the term, please see the U of M Academic Schedule at the following links. Please note that Dentistry
has its own section/dates which differ from most other faculties/schools at the University. Note the College
will not have a Fall break.

Opening Assembly, the College/School’s official introduction of the first-year classes, will be held on September 4, 2025. Further information will be distributed later. You are welcome to attend this event.
Awards Evening will be October 30, 2025. Both events will start at 6 pm in the Atrium of the Brodie Ctr.
MDA Mentorship Events are listed in your General Course on UM Learn, a reminder that you are expected to attend and participate.
Rady, IPE events (D1 and D2) are also listed here. Participation is mandatory and considered part of your program.
Be reminded that it is the responsibility of every student to obtain and maintain a University of Manitoba e-mail account (see policy at:
http://umanitoba.ca/registrar/email_policy/). According to policy, the College will not support external e-mail addresses when communication with our students.
Students are reminded to check this e-mail account on a regular basis as it is considered the official means of communication by the College/University.
Bursary applications will be available on-line on AURORA Student (under the Student Awards and Financial Aid tab) as of mid-August until October 1. A representative from Financial Aid and Awards will be able to answer any questions about
bursaries.
