The Opening Assembly (White Coat Ceremony) will be held on:
Wednesday, September 9, 2026
6:00 p.m.
Fredric Gaspard Theatre
Basic Medical Sciences Building (BMSB)
Enter through the Brodie Centre, 727 McDermot Avenue
If you are unable to attend, please let me know as soon as possible. If I do not hear from you, I
will assume you will be attending.
White Coat Instructions:
Please bring your short white lab coat to the ceremony. Ensure it is unbuttoned and ready to be donned.
When your name is called by Dean Cholakis or Professor Bertone, you will come to the front, where a faculty member will place your white coat on you. You will then button it
yourself.
School of Dental Hygiene Direct Entry Students:
When your name is announced, please stand. You do not need to come forward.
Arrival Time:
All students must meet Dentistry and School of Dental Hygiene staff on the 2nd floor of BMSB, outside the Fredric Gaspard Theatre, no later than 5:15 p.m. You will be lined
up and provided with further instructions.
Guests:
Family and friends are welcome to attend. Please note that the ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m.
If any of your guests have limited mobility, please let me know as soon as possible so that reserved seating can be arranged. Please include the number of people in the party.
We look forward to officially welcoming you to the profession on September 9, 2026.
