Dear Students,

My name is Asmaa Haimeur, and I am the course coordinator for Operative Dentistry 2 and Introduction to Comprehensive Care.

As part of the Operative Dentistry 2 course, you will be performing preparations and restorations on natural teeth. I encourage you to begin reaching out to dentists in your community to collect the required teeth.

For this course, you will need the following:

1. Mostly sound teeth (or teeth with small carious lesions or minor restorations):

• Anterior teeth: maxillary canines to canines, and a few mandibular anterior teeth
• Posterior teeth: 2–3 premolars and 2–3 molars
• Third molars with occlusal anatomy similar to first or second molars are also acceptable

2. Teeth with moderate caries

• 3–4 teeth with medium-sized carious lesions for caries removal practice

We are scheduled to begin working on natural teeth in mid-October, so please plan accordingly.
