Class of 2027,

As part of the DENT 4222 General Practice Dentistry Course your class may have the opportunity to take part in the Enhanced Rotation program which includes experiential learning trips to remote Northern communities as well as rural dental offices in Manitoba and a Kindness in Action mission trip with Dr. Boorberg.

We are working to put together these experiential learning opportunities for your class in the 2026-2027 academic year. These rotations would be for 1 week duration and would be balanced out with other external rotation opportunities. We will be sending 2 D4 dental students to the rural locations and only 1 D4 student for the northern locations. The mission trip with Dr. Boorberg historically has involved 2 to potentially 5 D4 students.

For those who are interested in being considered for any of these Enhanced Rotations, I would ask that you send me an email indicating your interest as well as a brief reflection on how you believe this opportunity could impact your learning. There are 3 potential opportunities:

I would ask that you indicate which rotations you are interested in and your personal learning reflection for each and rank them in the order in which you are most interested.

There will not be enough rotations for everyone to attend, and there are criteria required from an academic standing position, so there is no guarantee. Consideration will be given to why you feel this opportunity would be valuable to you, what you hope to gain from this experience as well as your overall clinical progress and GPA standing in your third-year courses.

Please forward me your application email with the required information by 8AM on Friday 15 May 2026 to be considered for this opportunity.
