This opportunity will allow you to share information freely
without UM Faculty and staff present. This means that your information will be shared in a confidential way with only the External Reviewers' notes being passed forward in the form of recommendations. This will allow you to share confidently without
concerns for how your comments could be judged.
More Details on the Academic Review below:
On October 29th and 30th the External Reviewers of our Faculty’s Undergraduate Academic Program will be on-site to meet with our faculty members, staff members, and undergraduate Education students with respect to our
current B.Ed. and PBDE programs. During this site visit, the External Program Reviewers (Dr. Janice Compton, University of Manitoba; Dr. Dianne Gereluk, University of Calgary; and Dr. James Nahachewsky, University of Regina) will be meeting at different times
with different members of our Faculty of Education community. This is a perfect opportunity — as a student— for you to voice your ideas about what you value about the current program and what recommendations you would make for improvements that would benefit
you, your peers, and future Education students.
During this meeting, a variety of topics may be discussed including program structure, courses, teaching methodologies, student assessment practices, faculty resources, governance structure, academic responsibility and workload,
and more.
If you have a class scheduled at this time and wish to attend, please contact adu.education@umanitoba.ca, and we will try to make alternative
arrangements with your Professors/Instructors. Also, if you are unable to attend in person, there will be an opportunity for you to submit your thoughts in writing.
And if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via adu.education@umanitoba.ca.
Have a wonderful day,
All the best,
Justin
